Glen Raven Announces Plans to Integrate John Boyle's Statesville Manufacturing Group

Specialty fabrics maker, Glen Raven, Inc., has announced that the John Boyle Company, Inc. manufacturing facility will become part of the company's Technical Fabrics Division. John Boyle, a 150-year-old textile company that has called Statesville home for almost 50 years, was acquired by Glen Raven in May 2007. Glen Raven is headquartered in Glen Raven, NC.
"Aligning John Boyle with the Technical Fabrics Division gives Glen Raven a deeper portfolio of well-respected brands and a solid global production base from which to serve our customers," says Hal Bates, marketing director for Glen Raven Technical Fabrics. "With the addition of John Boyle's manufacturing expertise and excellent products, we expect the expanded Technical Fabrics Division to continue on its current growth path."

"John Boyle is now part of a highly successful global textile company with full access to the worldwide marketplace. Our horizons have expanded here in Statesville."
Glen Raven Technical Fabrics division will serve five major textile markets: Outdoor, Protective, Industrial, Automotive, and Military. The division currently manufactures and markets such innovative brands as GlenGuard® FR and SunBrite. The company operates other U. S. manufacturing facilities in Glen Raven, NC; Burnsville, NC; Norlina, NC; Anderson, SC; and Calhoun, GA as well in China, France, and India.
Glen Raven management and John Boyle management have been working closely during the past seven months to determine the optimal integration plan. "The acquisition has gone very smoothly," says Skip McCall, who heads human resources at the Statesville facility. "Our 147 employees here in Statesville have been welcomed into the Glen Raven family and can look forward to a bright future with the Technical Fabrics Division."
As part of the integration, the John Boyle facility in Statesville will be fitted with new Glen Raven corporate signage. The visual conversion is expected to be completed by March 2008. An announcement regarding the integration of John Boyle's other functional areas will be made shortly once all details are finalized.
