Allen Gant, Jr. serves as Glen Raven's Chairman and continues his grandfather's founding values our company is built on.
Allen E. Gant, Jr. is chairman of the company founded by his grandfather in 1880 and continuously family owned throughout its history. He joined Glen Raven in 1971 and served in several increasingly senior positions with the company before serving as CEO from 1996 to 2017.
Gant, who attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was honored with a degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Elon University, is a global business and textile industry leader. He has served as a member of President Bush’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations (ACTPN), The Board of Directors of the American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition (AMTAC), TextilePAC, and as past chairman and board member of the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO).
He is also active with numerous community and educational organizations including the Board of Trustees for Elon University, the Board of Trustees of Alamance Regional Medical Center and the Board of Directors of the Alamance County Economic Development Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of Visitors of the UNC School of Business and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award in Business Administration from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2008.
